From Boleto Simples to Kobana: a journey of evolution
Our story begins in 2008 with the launch of Cobre Gratis, one of Brazil's first products to democratize access to bank slip billing. At that time, issuing bank slips was a bureaucratic, expensive process restricted to large companies with access to complex banking systems.
In 2013, Kivanio joined as co-founder, strengthening the team's technical capacity. A year later, Boleto Simples was born - a redesigned product with an API-first concept, designed for developers and modern integrations. In 2015, we migrated all Cobre Gratis customers to the new platform.
In 2020, with the arrival of PIX in the Brazilian market, the partners united to work full-time at the company, seeing an opportunity for expansion. Two years later, we took the decisive step: we expanded the scope to all banking operations and Kobana was born.
In 2023, we received our first investment round, with investors Latitud, BRQ and Proximity Angels. In 2024, we shifted our focus to serve large enterprises with high processing volumes and began strategic partnerships with banks. Today, in 2025, we consolidate our vision: putting companies' finances on autopilot.
