Authentication and environments

Browser login for interactive use, a token for scripts and CI.

# Browser login (OAuth with PKCE)
kobana auth login

# Or a token, for scripts and CI
export KOBANA_TOKEN=<token>

# First call, in the sandbox
kobana banking bank-billets list --env sandbox --output-format table

One token per product

KOBANA_TOKEN holds one product's credential at a time. A Banking Gateway token doesn't authenticate on Billing, or the other way around.

Autonomous Inbox and mTLS

Inbox requires a client certificate in addition to the token. Point KOBANA_INBOX_CLIENT_CERT to a PEM file with the certificate and key.

Resolution order

KOBANA_TOKEN, then KOBANA_CREDENTIALS_FILE, then the credentials saved by kobana auth login.

Production is the default

Only the Banking Gateway has a sandbox: use --env sandbox, or KOBANA_ENVIRONMENT=sandbox, to test. Tokens don't carry over between environments.

One command per product

The command tree is built at startup from the OpenAPI specifications, so the CLI mirrors the product's API.

Syntax: kobana <product> <resource> <method> [flags]

Banking Gateway

kobana banking

Charges, payments, transfers and statements, in API v1 and v2.

kobana banking bank-billets list --output-format table
CLI documentation →

Automatic Billing

kobana billing

Subscriptions, plans, invoices and tax invoices.

kobana billing subscriptions list --fields "id,status,plan_id"
CLI documentation →

Smart Finance

kobana finance

Payables and receivables, transactions and cash flow.

kobana finance financial-accounts list --fields "id,name, balance"
CLI documentation →

Autonomous Inbox

kobana inbox

Inboxes, e-mails, agents, agent runs and webhooks. Besides the token, Autonomous Inbox requires a client certificate (mTLS): point KOBANA_INBOX_CLIENT_CERT to a PEM with the certificate and key.

kobana inbox emails list --fields "id,subject,received_at"
CLI documentation →

Dunning and Magic Dashboard

Neither has a product in the CLI yet. Use the REST API.

Built for people and for agents

JSON output

JSON by default, or table and CSV with --output-format. --fields limits the columns.

--dry-run

Shows the method, URL and body that would be sent, without running it.

Automatic pagination

--page-all returns one record per line (NDJSON), up to 10 pages by default.

Schema introspection

kobana schema shows the path, parameters and description of any endpoint without leaving the terminal.

Idempotency

Every POST goes out with X-Idempotency-Key. Pass yours with --idempotency-key to retry safely.

Completions and updates

Completions for Bash, Zsh, Fish and PowerShell, and kobana update to upgrade.

Banking Gateway helpers

Shortcuts with named flags for the most common flows: +emitir, +cobrar and +cancelar-lote.

# Issue a bank slip
kobana +emitir --valor 150.50 --vencimento 2026-12-01 \
  --nome "Maria Silva" --cpf-cnpj "012.345.678-90" --carteira 1 --dry-run

CLI or MCP?

The CLI is for scripts, automations and agents that run terminal commands. To connect an AI assistant straight to your account, with no terminal, use the MCP server. Both call the same resources.

Automate your finances

Install the CLI, make your first call in the sandbox and take it to your pipeline.
